KL fin, also known as knurled L fin, is a finned tube made using both Wrap-On and Embedded techniques. The fins are crafted from metal strips formed into an L shape. These fins are helically wound onto the tube under tension, ensuring a tight fit around the tube.

During the process, the base tube is knurled, and the foot of the fin is securely knurled into the grooves of the tube. This results in a strong bond, enhancing thermal efficiency. The fins are placed so closely together that one fin touches the next, eliminating gaps and offering protection against corrosion.

Similar to L fins, KL fins are attached at both ends to prevent unwinding. These finned tubes are used in applications involving metals and can handle temperatures up to 320°C (608°F).
